Full description

ISEM has built an interdisciplinary research capacity on advanced materials and technology with world-class well equipped laboratories. It consists of 40 academic and research staff (currently including 12 various level ARC fellows), 60 postgraduate students and more than 10 visiting staff. ISEM has established collaborative networks with more than 50 groups in Australia and overseas. A single research program on superconductivity in 1994 has evolved into six programs, including applied superconductivity, materials for energy applications, electronics and spintronics, thin film technology, Terahertz science and thermionics and nano-materials. ISEM has focused on two major areas: energy and electronics.
