About this release Contains episode and unique counts of children enrolled and attending a preschool program across Australia in 2013. The results presented are compiled from data collected through the National Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Collection and include statistics on children, workers and service providers delivering an Early Childhood Education program. Children enrolled in and attending preschool are disaggregated by various classifications including state/territory, type of preschool (government, non-government, long day care), Remoteness Areas (RA), Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) Index of Relative Socio-economic Disadvantage, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and age.
