The total collection occupies 3,705 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent). The Guide is the output of a research database. It was published online by the eScholarship Research Centre in October 2007. Work on the records was started in 2004 by the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre. The records are held by the State Library of Victoria (MS 13521).
