Ellalong Public School [I] in the County of Northumberland was established in June 1863 and closed in December of 1863. Ellalong Public School re-opened in 1868 (Agency No.3693).

A Public School had a minimum attendance of 30 children prior to 1867, 25 children until 1880 when the number was reduced to 20. From 1957, the minimum number was reduced to nine.

It appears that no records have survived from the Ellalong Public School 1858- 1863.
