Full description

The Gold Commissioner, Tambaroora reported to the Gold Commissioner in Charge of Crown Lands for the Western Gold District. Joseph Cox was appointed as Sub-Commissioner, Tambaroora (2nd Class) from 26 October 1859.(1) He became an Assistant Commissioner from 1 January 1863.(2) Joseph Whitehead Lees, Police Magistrate, was appointed a Gold Commissioner in the Western Gold District for the Gold Fields of Meroo, Hargraves, Windeyer, Chambers Creek, and Tambaroora under the Gold-Mining Regulations of 21 March 1872.(3) Endnotes
