The John Stewart Turner Guide to Records documents and contextualises the records of John Stewart Turner, Professor of Botany and Plant Physiology at University of Melbourne 1938-1973 and a leader in the field of conservation. The records are grouped into ten series and include publications, correspondence, reports and Botany School files from Turner's period of tenure as Professor of the School. The collection documented by the Guide consists of 1095 inventory items, mostly paper format files. The total collection occupies 1,799 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent).
The Guide is the output of a research database. It was published online by the eScholarship Research Centre in 2008. Work on the collection had been begun in the 1990s by the Centre's predecessors the Australian Science Archives Project and the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre.
The records are located at the University of Melbourne Archives. The collection was listed by Andrea Barnes.
