Siemens Biograph mCT FLOW

The PET/CT Scanner provides details of disorders at a molecular level (PET) and a detailed image of the body’s anatomy (CT). The mCT Flow has continuous motion of the patient table and constant PET data acquisition.  The 128 slice CT scanner is also available for stand-alone diagnostic CT scanning.  This system assists clinicians to diagnose, localise and monitor conditions such as brain disorders (e.g. neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative disease), heart disease, and cancer.   Novel PET tracers are available, that allow for state or the art lesion detection, diagnosis, staging, and following response to therapy.  Laser positioning and flat palettes are available for radiotherapy projects.  Contrast CT can be performed, to image the digestive system, obtain angiography or assess contrast enhancement.   CT can be used to assess complex bone fractures and joint erosion, or perform detailed 3D scanning to create prosthetics.  The PET/CT Scanner is used by HIRF - Herston Imaging Research Facility.
