Full description This project was established to document the involvement of the Australian Science Archives Project (ASAP) and subsequent organisations with the records of John Neill Greenwood. Professor John Greenwood (1894-1981) was the foundation professor of metallurgy at the University of Melbourne, 1924-1945, research professor of metallurgy 1946-1960, and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, 1960-1964. This collection arose out of investigations into the Department of Metallurgy. Through contact with a former secretary a small but significant set of documents was able to be traced. These papers joined the existing Greenwood Collection at the University of Melbourne Archives.
