Full description

I am the head of the Translational Bioinformatics Group at the Centre for Health Informatics at the University of New South Wales where I lead projects to develop algorithms that use bioinformatics methods and tools for the study of human diseases. My background is in computer science, biomedical engineering, and machine learning. Prior to working at CHI I worked for eight years in the software industry in research, development and management roles. My research interests are computer aided discovery, hypothesis generation and testing, ontological knowledge integration, and multi-scale and multi-method model integration as these are applied to translational bioinformatics.
